Back in 2015 on a rare child free night out we were reminiscing out our previous trip to New Zealand in 2007 – back then were were a lot younger and had no kids to consider!

We both agreed that we wanted to go back and share the experience with the girls, but with a 6 and 2 year old, surely we would be crazy to contemplate a trip to the other side of the world?!

After another couple of glass of wine we put together a wish list of all the countries we wanted to visit:
- Thailand
- Malaysia
- Japan
- Singapore
- Cambodia
- Australia
- New Zealand
- India
- Nepal
- South America
- USA
- Canada
- Central America
- Europe
This was a bit of a departure from our normal holidays on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales where we spend our time walking, body boarding, kayaking and relaxing on the beach!

Originally we thought we would take a year out to cover all the countries outside of Europe and were inspired by reading other peoples blogs such as My Little Nomads, World Travel Family and y Travel.
At this point we had no money and Mummy Bee had started her own business 12 months ago – what were we thinking?
Over the next few weeks the conversatinos of that night were playing on our minds and after further discussions we decided on a 6 month trip in 2018 when the girls would be 9 and 5.
In our next blog we will share how we started to plan for this trip.
