Excitedly we ventured out to locate our first Geocache today.
Venue: Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire
Weather: Overcast and full of fresh air
Accomplices: The Roberts Family
Supplies: Mini-pasties, cheesy puffs and veg sticks
Our first challenge was to find 12 spiders on the forest nature walk and soon after finding the first one we also located a flowery Notts Rock as our first treasure! We combined forsest obstacles with discovering the spiders whilst closing in our first Geocache site. The compass led us an old gnarly tree and the children searched the branches for the box!
Mummy Bee pulled the box out and excitedly opened it, inside was a notebook and pen and we added our names to the log. We found lots of treasures inside including tickets, stamps, hair clips and lots more. We didn’t take anything away and as we had forgotten our rocks we left two feathers and another pen.
We finished our day at Hardwick Hall finding more Notts Rocks and made bird feeders and paper flowers before finding 12 more spiders.
